Happy Tofurkey Day I spent my first Thanksgiving away from home this year. I went to my uncle's house, which was almost like being home. Almost. My little nephew is adorable. "It's a bunklebee (bumblebee)!"
I've also decided I want to stay in NY for Thanksgiving next year. Not only to see the Macy's floats (how touristy, I know - I don't even watch it normally), but because I've decided my favorite place is Union Square Green Market the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. There are stalls of colorful squash, fresh baked pies (who doesn't like pie? Not anyone who took O'Connor's civics class...), hot ciders, and holiday decorative items out of a Martha Stewart Living issue. Nerd, I know. Remember to support your local farmers, especially against the scourge of imported produce (it's very weird to hear California constantly referred to as this evil agricultural force).
Today is Buy Nothing Day. Have you bought your nothing today?
